Mitigate IEAQ Incidents
In order to mitigate the chances of an adverse IEAQ incident, here are some things you can do:
- Clean and dry all water spills within the first 48 hours.
- Ensure air vents and grilles are not blocked.
- Eliminate blockages at air vents and grilles.
- Establish an effective smoking policy for the building.
- Dispose of garbage properly and promptly.
- Monitor daily disposal of garbage into appropriate containers to prevent odors and biological contamination.
- Store food properly.
- Avoid procedures and products in facilities maintenance that can cause IEAQ problems.
- Integrate IEAQ concerns into your purchasing decisions.
- Work with the tenants to ensure use of only necessary and appropriate pest control practices, utilizing non-chemical methods where possible.
